 Anna Matoušková

Anna Matoušková (born 1976, Prague) grew up in a musical family (her father is a composer, her mother a singer). She played the recorder from the age of five and at twelve started playing the clarinet under the vigilant eye of Kamil Doležal, who also iniciated her interest in contemporary music. She graduated at the Prague Conservatoire and is now in the third year of the Academy of Music, in the class of Prof. Petr Čáp. During her studies she took several master courses (three with prof. T. Friedli, M. Arignon, K. Doležal) and successfully participated in several competitions (1992 - Concertino Praga, 1996 - ACT, London, 2nd prize, 1997 - Ostrava, 2nd prize, 2000 - finalist of the Jeuness Musicales of Bucharest). She makes special time for contemporary music, has several recordings with Czech Radio and Czech Television (in the program "Panorama of 20th Century Music") and participated in recordings several CDs of works by Czech contemporary composers.
